Meet Joe Begalle
In 2008, frustration set in as I realized everything I had learned about investing and retirement planning was flawed. The strategies that held true leading up to retirement, such as diversification, the market always bouncing back, and dollar-cost-averaging, seemed ineffective once retired. Witnessing friends, family, and clients having to delay retirement or return to work after the market meltdown was heart-wrenching—a déjà vu of the tech bloodbath I had witnessed in the early 2000s.
Now, with the wisdom of age, the truth hit me: a secure retirement hinges on reliable income. Warren Buffett's investment rules, particularly "Rule #1: Don't lose money" and "Rule #2: Don't forget rule #1," resonated deeply. I am dedicated to helping others build a safety-first retirement income plan.

My Story
My journey started in Illinois, where my father worked for IBM, leading to a nomadic life. Born near Chicago, I lived in upstate New York, graduated high school in Raleigh, NC in 1976, and then moved to Colorado when my father was transferred. Despite a finance degree, I spent four years in corporate finance, eventually becoming disillusioned by the corporate world. Determined to make a positive impact, I studied at the College for Financial Planning.

The turning point occurred when I watched an uncle suffer significant losses in the tech meltdown of the early 2000s, forcing him and his wife to return to work despite having retired in their 50s. This motivated me to specialize in a safety-first retirement strategy, drawing inspiration from my father's 35-year tenure at IBM, enjoying a traditional pension plan with reliable income as he turns 95 this year. I am excited about the prospect of assisting you in creating a retirement income plan focused on security and peace of mind.

Today, I reside in the breathtaking mountains of Colorado with my college sweetheart. Blessed with five children and six grandchildren, we share a passion for travel, hiking with our lively Boykin Spaniel, Bodie, and my personal love for fly-fishing.
